Are you the type of person who asks for help when you need it? Or do you struggle on by yourself, refusing to ask others? When you need help,
regardless of the type of help you need or the person you need it from, just say, sincerely and humbly, “Can you help me?”
I promise you’ll get help with whatever it is that you can’t do – whether it’s changing a tire, working with you at the school fundraiser, or finding a store.
When you trust others to help, you show them your vulnerability, your respect, and your willingness to listen–which, by the way, are all qualities of a great leader.
And are all qualities of a great friend.
Today, ask for the help you need. And accept the help you are given.
Tell yourself you are worthy of this help. Recognize that you deserve it.
Do not apologize.
Just take it in.
Live Honest, Open, and True
When you trust others to help you, you give a gift to yourself. Asking for and accepting help reminds you that it is okay to be a perfectly imperfect person and not a superhuman who can do everything alone. Not only do you get the extra hand you need, you grow by taking the risk of rejection and by taking the risk of letting others see you as you truly are.
